High salary jobs for Filipino linemen, foremen, engineers, nurses, caregivers, etc in the UK.
MANILA - More than 7,000 job vacancies in the United Kingdom are up for grabs for Filipinos this year, according to Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
In a report over TV Patrol, POEA said the UK needs 21,000 highly-skilled workers which includes transmission linemen, foremen, civil engineers, and motor drivers. Nurses, caregivers, computer programmers, cooks, bookkeepers, and cashiers are also needed.
Out of that number, 9,000 slots were given to Filipinos, and only 1,200 have been filled up so far.
Deputy Administrator Jocelyn Sanchez said that workers with heavy workload receive higher salaries.
The transmission lineman receives about P137,000 per month, P132,000 for the foreman, and more than P139,000 for civil engineer.
Motor vehicle drivers earn around P92,000.
Salaries for nurses are P113,000 while caregivers pay P61,000 per month.
The UK also needs computer programmers with a payroll of P62,000. Cooks are also in-demand, with a rate of P350 per hour, while bookkeepers and cashiers can earn P286 per hour.
"They are very strict in qualification, education, experience, trainings and seminars," Sanchez added.
POEA emphasized that all hirings for UK job openings must go through recruitment process via accredited and licensed agencies. To avoid being scammed by illegal recruiters, applicants are advised to look for job openings via POEA website.
The website gives all the information, including name of the agency, address and contact information where jobseekers may send their applications.
